After 15 years in Tech, working in consulting, marketing, and operations, I felt called to pivot my career towards equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). I worked tirelessly to build programs and initiatives that transformed cross-functional teams into inclusive ones. But, I soon noticed a recurring theme in how EDI was practiced—primarily, a reliance on shame, guilt, and fear as main drivers of cultural transformation, exasperated by diversity fatigue.
To continue having impact, I knew I would have to find a more joyful and sustainable approach to managing my own burnout.
